It aims to assist research into the Family Surname of Young for genealogy purposes and to foster and promote a common understanding and friendship with those of similar ancestry, interests and minds around the world!

It aims to assist research into the family surname of Young for genealogy purposes and to foster and promote a common understanding and friendship with those of similar ancestry, interests, and minds around the world.
In 1999, Ian James Young met with James (Jim) Wallace Young in Queensland, and they decided to set up a formal Clan Young branch in Australia. Ian was a life member of Clan Young Society since 1995 and Jim was Vice President for Australia with the Clan Young Society. Jim was established as President and Ian as Secretary-Treasurer. Ian registered Clan Young Australia as a business entity on 1 January 2003 and it became an independent organisation at that time. It subsequently became an incorporated entity in 2010 with the efforts of Robert Bruce Young of Gundagai, New South Wales. Ian James Young of Parkdale, Victoria became Convenor of Clan Young Australia in 2014.
